As we’ve done for the past three years, The Family Dinner Project is building on the complementary ideas of thanks and giving by participating in #GivingTuesday, an annual event that celebrates generosity as a counter-message to the “shopping holidays” of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. This year, we invite you to help us spread the giving spirit by participating in a unique #familydinnerforward initiative that will help our partners at Blue Star Families.
From November 25th through December 15th, download or share this Dinner Tonight experience, featuring a tried-and-true recipe from military spouse and acclaimed author Sarah Smiley. You’ll get the game plan for a great meal filled with food, fun and conversation you can share with loved ones; Blue Star Families will get a donation, thanks to our friends at Boston Market and their #BostonMarketGives campaign. It’s the perfect way to pay your #familydinnerforward with just one click.
The donations received by Blue Star Families as part of our #familydinnerforward efforts for #GivingTuesday will help them to provide holiday gifts and celebrations for wounded soldiers and their families at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. In the words of Blue Star Families representative Megan Glynn, “With the generous support of Boston Market through the #familydinnerforward campaign, we will be able to provide a memorable family event where all children will receive several wrapped gifts, enjoy holiday crafts and goodies, and visit with Santa — something that otherwise may not happen for families with wounded warriors who have limited mobility or are financially struggling.”
