Talking About Giving

Posted on: December 14th, 2012 by Allissa

At your next family dinner, stir up a conversation about giving using these fun discussion ideas!

For Younger Kids:

  • What was the best gift you ever received?
  • What is something you own and love that you would like to share with someone else?
  • What can you give or do for someone that doesn’t cost any money?

For 8-12 Years Old:

  • If you could give one present to the whole world, what would it be?
  • Invent a superhero who protects something you care about. What is s/he fighting for? How does s/he create change? (example: Captain Planet)
  • If someone gives you a present that you do not want or like, what are some ways to respond?

For 13-18 Years Old:

  • If you started your own charity, who/what would it help?
  • Talk about a time when you did something thoughtful for someone else. What was it? How did it make you and the other person feel?
  • If you could spend the day with someone special doing something you both love, who would it be? What would you do?
