Parent Engagement Webinar with Families in Schools

On June 9, 2016, The Family Dinner Project joined our friends at Families in Schools to host a webinar on Parent Engagement and Digital Literacy. We were thrilled to be able to work with Families in Schools in offering a meaningful learning experience for our many participants.

Continuous engagement between home and school is beneficial for student success, and family dinners also offer a wide range of benefits that show up at school: Increased vocabulary and early literacy skills, better grades, more positive peer relationships and lower incidences of risky behaviors, among many others. Supporting both families and educators with resources and tools to help improve the frequency and quality of family dinners is central to our work and helps us to reach families “where they are,” not just at home but in the community as well.
