Posted on: June 2nd, 2014 by Amy

yearbookphotoSchool officials at a high school in Utah edited yearbook photos without the students’ permission. The edits focused on clothing, including adjustments to sleeve length and necklines, and guess what? The students were not pleased.

Watch this video from The Today Show and spark a discussion by choosing from the following questions. This Conversation of the Week is best suited for children ages 10 and up.

What do you think of this school’s yearbook photo policy? Do you agree with it? Why or why not?

Do you think that the school’s policy and the action they took will make a difference in the clothing students choose to wear moving forward?

Do you have opinions on clothing policies in general?

How do you choose what clothes to wear?

How would you feel if someone edited a photo of you without your permission? Has this ever happened to you?

We live in an age when “photoshopping” pictures, especially of models and celebrities, is common practice. What do you think of this trend?
