Family Breakfast #1: Morning Laughs and Muesli

Welcome to The Family Dinner Project’s Weekly Family Breakfast posts!

We believe in the power of family meals to provide social, emotional and physical benefits for kids and adults. But even though our name says “family dinner,” the time of day doesn’t actually matter! Family meals are a wonderful opportunity for connection whether they happen in the evening, morning, or any other time of day. We know lots of families struggle to get together consistently for dinner, but might be able to spend 10 or 15 minutes enjoying breakfast together before the day begins.

This summer, social distancing will still be a reality for many of us. Others will be navigating the challenges of work and child care within a partially quarantined world. And on top of the difficulties of the ongoing pandemic, there are lots of other sources of stress and tension that may be impacting families right now. With everything that’s going on, families deserve easy ideas to help them relax and have fun together. We encourage you to set the stage for positive days ahead with our weekly family breakfasts — perfect for a quick but meaningful moment of calm to start the morning off on the right foot.
